Admission
The Manager may refuse admission to any person without giving any reason for so doing and similarly may require any person to leave the Centre, particularly in the case of any person failing to comply with these conditions.
Children under the age of eight years are not permitted in the Centre unless accompanied by and supervised by a responsible adult (of over 16 years). Please note, this will include those who we suspect are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Membership Cards
All Wave Leisure members must show their current valid membership card at reception each time they visit a Wave Leisure Centre. If your card is lost or stolen, please inform your nearest centre immediately. You may be refused admission or asked to pay for your activity if you are unable to present a valid membership card.
Swimming pools
Adults may be responsible for up to 3 children under 8 years when using the pool. Refer to Pool Admission Policy for further guidance. Diving is only permitted in areas of the pool over 1.5 metres deep.
Personal liability and damage to or loss of property
Use of the Centre and all its equipment, facilities and amenities is permitted entirely at the User's own risk and the Management shall not be liable for any personal injury or death to any User or for consequential loss, otherwise than as a result of the defective condition of the Centre or its equipment or of the negligence of the Management, its agents, officers or employees.
Although every effort is made to maintain good security the Management does not accept responsibility for any damage to, or loss of, any property or articles placed or left in the Centre by a User.
Concessionary prices
Concessionary prices are available for certain activities to the following groups:-
(i) Juniors - all those under 16 years
(ii) Students - valid NUS card required
(iii) Seniors - all those aged 60 and over
(iv) People with disabilities - proof may be required
(v) Benefit claimants - Job Seekers Allowance, Income Support and Pension Credit - evidence required on each visit
(vi) Families - for one or two adults with all children of the family under 16 years of age
Prices and times may be subject to change, which will be notified in each leisure centre.
Bookings and hires
(A) Members - up to eight days in advance, in person or by telephone.
(B) Non-members - up to two days in advance, in person or by telephone.
(C) Hires - bookings of facilities more than eight days in advance may be made by arrangement with the Manager, using the booking form and accompanied by the relevant deposit. The deposit will not be refunded after your booking has been confirmed.
(D) Certain sessions need to be paid for at the time of booking.
Cancellations
(A) By hirer - See conditions of hire.
(B) By a casual user - in the event of cancellation of a booking, the full fee will be payable unless notice is received more than 24 hours in advance. If the facility is however resold to another customer a free session at an alternative time will be offered.
(C) By the Management - the Management reserves the right to close or prohibit the use of any of the facilities, or to relocate courses, classes, bookings and hires with immediate effect at its discretion.
The Management will refund monies paid in respect of the booking or hire fee, but will not be liable for any other loss or expenditure incurred by or on behalf of the User or Hirer or on behalf of any other person arising from the exercise of this discretion, or from the cancellation of any booking by the Manager for any reason beyond his control.
Usage periods
The booking period includes any time taken to set-up and take-down equipment necessary for your activity. This includes sports equipment, tables, chairs etc.
Emergency procedures
In the event of an emergency, the user must comply immediately with any instruction given by the Manager, officers and employees of the Centre.
Photography
Permission is required to use photographic equipment or video cameras in the Centres.
Hygiene Requirements
Please shower before entering the swimming pool. Correct swimwear must be worn in the swimming pool. Swimwear must be worn in the Health Suite. All babies and toddlers must wear training pants in the swimming pool unless toilet trained. Socks must be worn by children using soft play equipment.
