Wave Kids

Keeping kids entertained and active is a major job. At Wave Leisure we offer a truly comprehensive range of fun activities for children from just a few months old upwards. Helping children to enjoy being active from an early age improves their wellbeing, social skills and learning while getting them interested in activities they can enjoy for years to come.

We have soft play facilities at three centres with supervised sessions for under 5's. Children can start to enjoy the water at our three pools from the age of five months with one of our Parent & Toddler structured play sessions and follow the ASA Duckling and Puffin programme all the way through to age 4.

As they get a little older, there are pre-school Gymnastics classes for ages from 2 1/2 and beginners trampolining from ages 4 and over.

We also offer an exciting range of soft play and activity birthday parties plus holiday time activities to keep them active and occupied.

Most of all though, it's about fun and excitement in a completely safe environment!

Wave Play

Our Lewes Leisure Centre, Peacehaven Leisure Centre and Downs Leisure Centre each have soft play facilities for your children to enjoy.

Ocean Adventure (Lewes)

A fun-packed soft play area over three levels for children under 8, with interactive sounds and a dedicated area for toddlers. Slide down the sea serpent, squeeze through the Octopus's squeezers, climb the seaweed bridge, brave the whirlpool rollers, and have fun with the bash bags, fish shapes and ball pit. There is space for you to sit and relax and a refreshment area for drinks and snacks.

Opening times:
Monday - Friday 10am-6pm, Weekends 9am-6pm (unless closed for birthday parties). Supervised sessions for under 5’s may also be held in Ocean Adventure at certain times.

Magic Castle (Peacehaven)

A two level soft pay area for children under 10 (or maximum height 145cm) featuring a climb through spiders web, spiral slide, wedge squeeze, electronic picture panel, ball pool and biff bags. There is a dedicated toddler area and refreshment area for you to sit and relax.

Opening times:
Daily 9am-6pm (unless closed for birthday parties). Supervised sessions for under 5's may also be held in the Magic Castle at certain times.

PlayZone (Seaford)

There's lots to do at Wave Leisure's new PlayZone at Downs Leisure Centre. Have a children's party in the new indoor football pitch or a ZigZag interactive walls party is fast and fun! With new bouncy castle and climbing frame plus baby area, there's something for everyone! Our cafe is open for drinks, healthy snacks and lunches.

Monday 11.30am-5pm
Tuesday 9am-3pm (term time) 10am-5.30pm (holidays)
Wednesday 9am-3pm (term time) 10am-5.30pm (holidays)
Thursday 12.30pm-3pm (term time) 12.30pm-5.30pm (holidays)
Friday 11am-5pm (term time) 10am-5pm (holidays)
Saturday 9am-5pm (plus parties only 5.30-7.30pm)
Sunday 9am-5pm (plus parties only 5.30-7.30pm)

Sessions may be limited to a maximum of 2 hours during busy periods.

Supervised Under 5 Sessions

Our Lewes, Peacehaven and Seaford centres also offer supervised sessions for under 5’s, allowing you to either relax or enjoy an invigorating workout or exercise class and are available at the following times:

Lewes Leisure Centre:
Tuesday - Friday 9.45-11.45am

Peacehaven Leisure Centre:
Monday, Wednesday Thursday, Saturday 9.15-11.15am

Downs Leisure Centre:
Tuesday 9.15-11.45am, Thursday 10.15am-1pm (sessions limited to 1 hour)

Birthday Parties

Why not have your children's birthday party at Wave Leisure this year? We have a great range of facilities available including our soft play centres and swimming pools, plus activities including football, basketball, netball, rollerbooting, trampolining or bouncy castle. We can also supply a party leader to supervise your party.

You can self-cater at each of our centres or relax and take advantage of our fully catered hot or cold party menu at the Downs Leisure Centre. At Lewes Leisure Centre we can provide a separate party room at a small extra charge for your post-activity party. A reduced party price and length is available for activity only parties. We can also provide free party invitations!

Active Kids

We have a great range of activities and sports available for under 8's too at each of our centres, with an emphasis on fun and learning in a completely save environment. All activities are run and supervised by our fully qualified instructors and may lead to badges and awards for achievement as your child's skills develop.

Wave Juniors

However you want to enjoy your free time, there will be something for you across our five centres in Lewes, Newhaven, Peacehaven and Seaford. Whether you want to swim for fun or fitness, or learn a new sport or skill, our wide variety of activities and courses are for you.

Each Wave leisure centre runs a great range of activities for you to enjoy including football, basketball, netball, trampolining and gymnastics. Why not try climbing, martial arts or badminton too? There are weekly courses or drop-in sessions available for many activities.

Term Time Activities

Courses run after school and at weekends. From gymnastics and martial arts through to short tennis, junior exercise classes, and climbing, we have something for you whatever you want to do.

School Holiday Activities

Make your school holidays fun by joining in with our holiday activity programmes during Summer, Easter and Christmas holiday times, plus every half term too! Enjoy your favourite sports, improve your skills or try out something new in a great fun atmosphere.

Birthday Parties

Why not have your birthday party with us this year? You can choose from a great range of activity sports parties, bouncy castle or make your birthday go with a splash by having a party in one of our pools! Activities include football, basketball, netball, rollerbooting, trampolining or bouncy castle. We can also supply a party leader to supervise your party.

Swimming

Swimming is a great way to get active and have fun. Learning to swim also gives you a life long skill which you can use to stay fit and get more out of your free time and holidays. You can enjoy fun sessions with our giant pool inflatables, or take a slide down our flum at Lewes Leisure Centre.

Swimming Lessons

At Wave Leisure our swimming programme goes all the way through to ASA level 12, with special courses for advanced water skills, personal water safety, rookie lifeguarding, water rescue and even the full National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) once your are over 16. There are term-time weekly courses, intensive holiday courses and private one-to-one or group lessons available.

Children under 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult for all pool based activities. Supervision ratios apply - please ask reception for details. Toddler training pants are required and can be purchased from reception.
