Swim School

Wave Swim School offers an extensive range of lessons, from 5 months through to advanced adult lessons.

Wave Swim School’s qualified and experienced instructors deliver our own level structure. The levels have been created by merging aspects of the Amateur Swimming Association’s (ASA) National Plan for Teaching Swimming and the Swimming Teachers Association’s (STA) Learn to Swim programme.

Wave Swim School also offers alternative aquatic activities such as Rookie Lifeguard, Pre-Competition, Flip ‘n’ Fun, Aqua Fun, Mini Polo, Snorkelling and Canoeing. We also have a number of links with local clubs to encourage the students to carry on with these activities on a more permanent basis.

 Term length & payment options

Wave Swim School teaches swimming for 50 weeks of the year and offers continuous assessment. This means that the student will be able to progress to the next level at any point within the 50 weeks. In order to progress the child will need to meet all of their current levels criteria.

You will be able to choose to spread the cost of lessons by paying monthly by direct debit or pay in blocks of 15 weeks. For our customers who pay monthly by direct debit, you will receive 50 lessons for the price of 45 plus you will also receive half price swimming.

Children on a current course paid for by direct debit will be entitled to half price swimming all year on production of a valid Swim School membership card.

There is no need for the child to to have an accompanying full paying adult to qualify for this benefit, although our normal swimming pool admission policy will still apply. For example:

• A child under 8 years – the child will benefit from half price swimming but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

• A child over 8 years – the child can swim on their own, but must observe the restrictions of the competency test.

Our swimming pool admission policy is available from reception at our swimming pools.
