Swim School

Wave Swim School offers an extensive range of lessons, from 5 months through to advanced adult lessons.

Wave Swim School’s qualified and experienced instructors deliver The Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) Learn to Swim pathway.

Wave Swim School also offers alternative aquatic activities such as Rookie Lifeguard, Pre-Competition, Flip ‘n’ Fun, Aqua Fun, Mini Polo, Snorkelling and Canoeing. We also have a number of links with local clubs to encourage the students to carry on with these activities on a more permanent basis.

Term length & payment options

Wave Swim School teaches swimming for 50 weeks of the year and offers continuous assessment. This means that the student will be able to progress to the next level at any point within the 50 weeks. In order to progress the child will need to meet all of their current levels criteria.

You will be able to choose to spread the cost of lessons by paying monthly by direct debit or pay in blocks of 15 weeks. For our customers who pay monthly by direct debit, you will receive 50 lessons for the price of 45.

Children on a current course paid for by direct debit will be entitled to half price swimming all year on production of a valid Swim School membership card.

There is no need for the child to have an accompanying full paying adult to qualify for this benefit, although our normal swimming pool admission policy will still apply. For example:

  • A child under 8 years – the child will benefit from half price swimming but must be accompanied by a responsible adult (age).
  • A child over 8 years – the child can swim on their own, but must observe the restrictions of the competency test.

Our swimming pool admission policy is available from reception at our swimming pools.

Manage your swimming lessons yourself

Wave Swim School gives you the ability to manage your child’s lessons online, meaning you don’t need to queue to see the teacher or queue to change their lessons as they progress.

Using one simple login, you can manage all your children on swimming lessons from the comfort of your own home, or on the move via your smart phone.

If you have more than one child on lessons with us, you will be able to manage them all from one login.

All progress is logged immediately via a poolside tablet and is accessible as a Record of Achievement.

Once your child is ready to move up to the next level, you will receive an email alert and you can move them yourself to an available slot to suit you. The system will only show you spaces that are available so you are assured a place for the following week.
