Overall Summary

Leaving school or college and looking for an exciting new job? As a Wave Apprentice you’ll learn all about how a Leisure Centre functions and acquire new skills in a fast-paced environment.


You will have a can-do attitude, great organisational skills and be a team player with endless enthusiasm. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to begin a career in Leisure.


You will provide excellent customer service, resolve enquiries positively and assist with new initiatives and innovations throughout the centre. Apprentices work on the maintenance and safety of equipment, cleaning and Healthy & Safety policy at their site. You’ll set up for and help with classes and activities, with the possibility of coaching sessions yourself.

At sites with pools you will undertake a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. You will lifeguard and supervise the pool area, assist swimmers in difficulty and apply First Aid as needed. You’ll check chemical levels and maintain the pool and changing rooms area. You’ll help to prep for and organise water activities and swimming lessons
