Wave’s Older Person’s Health Walk Group sessions have continued to grow in popularity, but without our walk leaders they simply wouldn’t be possible. If you want to support and inspire others to get active through walking, then being a volunteer walk leader could be just the role for you!
What do walk leaders do?
The Leaders plan the walk routes which accommodate the needs of all the walkers, and take into consideration the different fitness and mobility levels of the group. This ensures all walkers have an enjoyable and engaging session. During a walk, walk leaders are at the front, middle or back of agroup - making sure everyone is safe and happy. They support walkersand act as ambassadors for walking - showing people that walking reallycan make a big difference to their lives.
Please join our team of volunteer walk leaders in Lewes, Peacehaven and Seaford. Full training is provided.
