Want to send your kids on an adventure for the day in February Half Term? During the week we’ll be running the John Muir Award, where kids can come along for up to 5 days of outdoor fun!
The John Muir Award is a national environmental award that encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places. It encourages responsibility for the natural environment in the spirit of fun and adventure.
At the heart of the John Muir Award are four challenges:
Discover a wild place, what is living and growing around us
Explore its wildness to enjoy and appreciate your local areas
Conserve the area, help look after your wild place
Share your experiences about what you discovered with others
For children aged 10-15, this unique experience costs £22.00 per day, or they can complete the full 5 day course for just £60.00! The sessions run from 9:00am-4:00pm and kids will get the chance to discover, explore and conserve wild places through exciting activities including woodwork, outdoor cooking and bush craft!
Please note, to receive the John Muir Award participants must complete the full 5 day course, but they are more than welcome to come along for any number of days and take part in the activities.
