For both men and women, walking football prohibits players from sprinting, running or jogging while the ball is in play. The game is also non-contact.
Wave’s weekly Walking Football sessions take place in Seaford, Lewes and Peacehaven. They have proved to be so popular that another session has been added in Seaford for those who are less active and are seeking an introduction – or reintroduction – to the game.
Volunteer Walking Football Coach, Dick Plowman who runs the sessions said: “As a retired footballer I wanted to hold these sessions to help and encourage all over 50s to be active. It really does encapsulate fun, fitness and friendship.”
