Opportunities to take part in physical activity include gentle and low impact activity such as Walking Sports, Health Walks and seated and seated-to-standing group exercise for those who maybe at risk of falls.
Wave has a range of specialist sessions at various levels of intensity ranging from gentle exercise to improve day to day mobility, such as Chair-Based Exercise and Strength and Balance classes, to social team walking sports. Our specialist sessions are open to everyone who may benefit from them. With a walk leader on hand to provide local knowledge, everyone’s invited to enjoy a revitalising walk and explore the natural beauty of our local area, all without spending a penny.
These classes are designed to help reduce the risk of falling by improving strength, balance and confidence. The class consists of a selection of seated and standing exercises, some with light weights or resistance bands.
For both men and women, walking football prohibits players from sprinting, running or jogging while the ball is in play. The game is also non-contact.
Walking Netball is a slower version of the game; it is netball, but at a walking pace.
These classes provide gentle exercises for those with limited mobility.
