Our Swimming Re-opening Statement

We know many of you have missed swimming with Wave so we’re now delighted to inform you that, as from 7th September you will be able to return to swimming at a number of our pools

Whilst we are keen to welcome you back, we also want to ensure your safety whilst attending our sites so, during lock-down we have been busy working closely with trade associations including, CIMSPA, Community Leisure UK (CLUK) and Swim England to make appropriate changes, so that when pools reopen you feel safe, confident, and ready to enjoy your visit.

We have been working with Lewes District Council, Eastbourne Borough Council and East Sussex County Council in determining what pools to open taking into consideration financial and social distancing implications. The swimming pools to open are:

At this time, due to a number of issues, including aligning to social distancing guidelines we have agreed with our partners not to open Motcombe or Seaford Head Pools to the Community. We will continue to work with our partners in an attempt to find an appropriate way forward for these pools.

In order to limit numbers attending sessions and to help you feel confident about returning, swimming activities and AquaFit (Aqua Aerobics) classes will be bookable in advance. This means that we can minimise queuing time and the associated risks.

Activities that will be available are Fitness Swimming, Lane Swimming, 60+ Swims, #This Girl Can Swims, Swimming Lessons, AquaFit Classes, Family Bubble Swims and Flume Bubble Swims.

We will have more details to share about what to expect on your visit, how to book swimming activities and AquaFit classes over the next couple of weeks. and will provide answers to your membership questions. Swim session bookings will available from Monday 24th August.
