Your Questions Answered: Group Exercise Classes

Why has the timetable changed?

To be able to implement a strict cleaning schedule we have needed to change class times and lengths. By staggering our classes, we are ensuring adequate time to clean the spaces and equipment for our members. This is crucial to ensuing we are providing a COVID-19 secure environment in which to exercise. You can find the new timetables here.

Have you reduced class sizes?

We are able, in most instances, to keep our class capacities the same as we are utilising our bigger spaces in centres to offer our group exercise timetable.

Why are most classes now only 45mins?

We have reduced class times to ensure we have enough time between each group to carry out thorough cleaning procedures. It also means we can offer a more diverse timetable and give more customers the opportunity to enjoy a class.

Why are some classes are no longer on the timetable?

Some classes have been removed due to the type of class not being able to safely follow health and safety guidance regarding social distancing, or to reduce the need for multiple pieces of equipment. Of course, if/when guidance changes, we would look to reinstate the class when safe to do so.

What equipment will be provided?

We can provide some equipment for classes if it is able to be cleaned effectively such as bars, plates and dumbbells . Equipment that is porous will not be used. Customers are to only use the equipment at their station and not share with other class users.

Mats will not be provided, but can be purchased at reception. Exercise mats will be available for £6 and yoga mats can be purchased for £18.50. You are also welcome to bring your own exercise or yoga mat to use.

There will be no water fountains available so please come with a full water bottle.

Do I need to book?

Yes, you will not be able to enter the center unless you have booked ahead. You can book online or over the phone to secure your place. Normal cancellations procedures apply.

Do I need to clean the equipment?

No, by staggering our classes we can have all equipment cleaned by our operational team. This ensures all equipment is cleaned effectively using the appropriate disinfectant cleaner.

How are you managing social distancing in classes?

Spots have been placed on the floors for customers to exercise on and these are spaced adhering to government guidelines.

There will be different entrances and exits for classes, depending on your center and which room the class is held in. Your instructors will inform you of your exit at the end of the class. Exits will take you immediately out of the building to ensure minimal contact with other center users.

How are you keeping your instructors safe?

To protect our group exercise instructors, we have extra head mics available which are fully sanitized after use and mic windshields are provided.

There is a minimum of 3 meters spaced between the instructor and the front row of participants and all of them have taken part in COVID-19 safe training.
