Holistic Classes

We have a variety of Holistic classes at our sites in Peacehaven, Seaford and Lewes.

Increase your energy and calm the mind using exercises that keep the body fit while contributing to a sense of relaxation and spiritual balance. Learn how breathing patterns can calm the mind and increase your mobility and flexibility, all while building muscle strength and stamina.

Please note, all of our holistic classes are for those aged 16+. For all classes, we suggest wearing comfortable clothes and footwear that you can move freely in and bringing along a water bottle. If it's your first time to the class don't worry, our classes are for all abilities so please work at whatever level is right for you. Let the instructor know it's your first time and they will help you get started.

Active Age - Tai Chi

Perfect for the older adult this wonderful series of movements are performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Tai Chi is a non competitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. Leaving you feeling refreshed and calm.

This class is suitable for older adults.

Fitness Pilates

Fitness Pilates  applies the main principles of Classical Pilates but it also involves more functional movement for every day life.  Fitness Pilates will improve overall body strength with the main emphasis on your back and core muscles. It will also help to improve posture, mobility, joint problems and tone your body. Along with  minimal impact movements this class is great for all abilities.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and over.

Gentle Yoga

This class combines yoga movement with breathing and grounding, with a view to using the practice to enhance  movement in everyday life.  Suitable for all abilities, this class is perfect for those new to Yoga or who prefer to take a more gentle pace.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and above. 

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga places great importance on regulation of breathing and the adoption of bodily postures.  With slower movements, you'll be strengthening the body whilst quietening the mind and finishing with this beautiful class with relaxation.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and above.

Les Mills BodyBalance™

Ideal for anyone and everyone, BODYBALANCE is a new generation yoga class that will improve your mind, your body and your life.

You can expect to bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves, elements of Tai Chi and Pilates while an inspiring soundtrack plays in the background. Breathing control is a part of all the exercises, and instructors will always provide options for those just getting started

LES MILLS BODYBALANCE is available to participate at Peacehaven Leisure Centre.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and over.

Pilates

Pilates is a series of non impact exercises designed  to develop strength, flexibility, balance, and inner awareness. With an emphasis on alignment and control - Pilates really is great for everyone.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and over.

Pose Barre Flow 

Pose Barre Flow is a floor and mat based class where movement combines with deep stretching. Based on traditional ballet workout moves recommended by leading dance companies worldwide, combined with influences from pilates and contemporary dance. It is suitable for all levels.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and above.

Power Pilates 

Power your way through a focused Pilates class that will burn calories and tone muscles. This workout emphasise control, balance and core strength along with traditional Pilates movements.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and over.

Stretch & Relax

Unwind, relax and stretch with this beautiful class, focusing on finding calm whilst lengthening all the muscles in the body. With guided mediation included, you will leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.

This class is available to participate in at Peacehaven Leisure Centre and is suitable for those aged 16 years and above.

Tai Chi Wudang

An ancient Chinese martial art and exercise system, Tai Chi Wudang benefits both health & fitness. With options to integrate swords, this wonderfully invigorating session will leave you feeling composed, refreshed and centred.

Yoga

Yoga is a healing system of theory & practice. It helps us find the calm in our busy lives. Whilst improving flexibility, strength and muscle tone along with pain prevention and a focus on breathing, Yoga really does have amazing benefits for the mind, body & soul.

Yoga Flow 

Flow yoga classes are a mixture of meditation, breath-work and energizing movement. The diversity of flow yoga comes from the creativity of the Yoga teachers ability to sequence moves and  target certain areas of the body, focusing on helping to build abilities, such as strength, flexibility or balance. With the opportunity to adapt to each individual. Yoga Flow will leave you feeling aligned, refreshed and calm.

Pilates Flow 

Flow Pilates is the Pilates principle that emphasizes a fluidity of movement, to music, throughout the duration of the Pilates class. By incorporating other Pilates principles, such as control, concentration, and centering, the body can flow within each movement and throughout the class.

Stretch & Release

NEW CLASS LAUNCH!

Stretch & Release classes are an introduction to the ELDOA technique.  ELDOA stands for Elongation Longitudinaux Avec Decoaption Osteo Articulaire,

 The ELDOA Method supports the flexibility gains from Myofascial stretches can help improve your joint mobility, and overall health. As the quality of your tissue improves with the stimulus created by the Myofascial Stretches, you’ll find that you have better posture, greater range of motion, that you are able to perform tasks with greater ease, and you’ll suffer fewer injuries. Similar to Yoga, there is a focus on postures and breath work that brings a range health of benefits to include lower back and joint pain reduction.
