Classes and Activities

Whatever your fitness level, and whether you exercise regularly or are a complete beginner, our classes offer a great way to get in shape. Our professional Instructors make our classes a motivating and fun experience, while making sure you are working at the right level and pace, learning all the moves and techniques you need.

Deep Water Aerobics
A water resistance work-out, eliminating impact and stress on joints.

Dumbbell Sculpt
Want to tone up? This class is a full body weight training workout, where dumbbells are used to strengthen and shape your muscles.

Fitness Pilates
A more functional approach to the traditional Pilates class. This class involves more dynamic movement for everyday life.

Fit Families Gym Sessions
Fit families allows children from the age of 11-13 to train in any Wave gyms with a parent or guardian.

Fit Families Outdoors
Outdoor fitness session for parents with their children. Focus on getting the whole family active with a competitive twist. Expect sports day style circuits and challenges!

An energetic, upbeat dance class designed to achieve real measurable fitness results.

Fit Camp                                                                                                             An energetic and motivating outdoor group exercise session for all abilities. Works on functional fitness with the use of rustic equipment including battle ropes, tyres and slam balls.

Fort Fit Camp

Hatha Yoga
Mindful exercise class. Stretching and breathing exercises to increase strength, energy and flexibility.

Health Walks
Short walks of about 45 minutes for all ages led by our qualified Health Walk Leaders.

A full body work-out - High Intensity Interval Training - a motivating class combining strength, endurance and body weight - push your cardio to the limit.

H.I.I.T. with Weights
Designed to strengthen, tone and increase fitness levels, this class gives you a full body work-out using your own body weight, dumbbells and weights. High intensity, high energy and great calorie burn.

Indoor Cycling
Stationary cycling, pedal your way through a cardio and leg work-out. Where will the journey take you?

A full body kettlebell work-out for fat burning and toning.

Come along and punch your way to a much fitter and more toned version of you. Open to men and women.

Pickleball is a fun racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. Played indoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net, two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net.

Class Descriptions:

Aqua Aerobics
A water resistance work-out. Non-swimmers welcome. For 14 years and over.

Aqua Zumba
Jump into the Latin inspired, easy to follow, dance fitness party that makes working out a splash.

A body weight work-out that is sure to challenge you.

A high energy, martial arts-inspired work-out that is totally non-contact. Punch and kick your way to fitness and burn up to 740 calories per class.

Body Conditioning
A fun toning and firming class which targets those problem areas. Helps to improve body shape, self-confidence, strength, core stability and overall tone.

Boxing H.I.I.T.                                                                                           Boxing is a great form of cardio which builds speed, upper body strength and stamina. This class combines boxing moves performed in a high-intensity interval training format to push you to your limits

Buggy Fitness
No need for childcare, bring your baby to class! A class for parents to get back into exercise, where you can bring your baby or toddler along in a buggy.

Cardio Blast                                                                                             Short bursts of high intensity exercise with abdominal core work.

Chair-Based Exercise
These classes provide gentle exercises for those with limited mobility.

Bringing a night out to your work-out. Burn up to 600 calories in these fun classes of easy to follow dance fitness routines using glow sticks to club anthems from 90s classics to the latest chart hits taught in a darkened room with disco lights.

Young people in a step class

A class designed to improve flexibility and achieve a toned body.

PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of Yoga. We create a continual flow up of movements to deliver a true fat-burning, low-impact work-out with an aerobic twist.

Power Circuits
A motivating class combining strength and endurance training.

Senior’s Exercise Class
A fun and friendly class with lots of laughter – and sweat.

Senior’s Only Gym Sessions
For all abilities, a gentle class designed to get you supple and keep you that way. Please note, before joining a class, you will need to have undergone a Gym Induction with one of our qualified Fitness Instructors.

Senior’s Only Swim Sessions and Aqua Aerobics are also held at Seaford Head Swimming Pool, a short walk from Downs Leisure Centre.

Senior’s Tai Chi
This class strengthens and improves your core and stability, relieves stress, tension, aches and pains.

An energetic step and tone class, east to follow with toning.

Strength & Balance Exercise Classes
For the over 60s, this class is designed to help reduce your risk of failing by improving your strength, balance and confidence.

Table Tennis
Table tennis, also known as Ping Pong, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table using a small, solid bat. The game takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Play is fast and fun for all ages.

Tap Dancing
Fun and exciting for everyone. Step, hop & shuffle.

Vinyasa Yoga
Dynamic class which aims to rejuvenate energy levels through focused breathing to improve strength and wellbeing.

Walking Football
This activity prohibits players from sprinting, running or jogging while the ball is in play and is also non-contact.

X5 Interval Training
Improve your strength, speed, power, endurance and more. Get competitive with friends with an AMRAP circuit (As many reps as possible) and enjoy a stretch focus and abs blast section to round off this unique training session.

An energetic and fun dance-based fitness class that uses a fusion of Latin and International dance rhythms.
